Dedalo knew they needed to escape Crete. To do so, he built huge wings made of wax and bird feathers. He warned his son that he had to find the right middle. He couldn't fly too low or the wings would be clogged by the sea, and he couldn't fly too high, or the wax would melt. Icarus started his flight, and everything was OK until he looked at the sun.
He couldn't help himself... Like flies are attracted to lamp torches, Icarus was attracted to the sun. He fell into the sea and drowned by the weight of his own wings.
